The Schumacher IPD (Instant Power) 1800 Jump Starter with 18Ah (Amp Hour) Battery is powerful multipurpose source of power that heavy vehicles need on the road. Powered by a 18Ah internal battery that putting out 500-amps of power, it is designed to provide enough jumpststarting power for consumer trucks, vans, SUVs and cars. It also provides ample multipurpose mobile power for devices via the unit's DC power socket. Additional features include: an included docking/charging station with LED charge indicator, a built-in light, Maintenance Mode/Float Mode charging, 30-amp DC circuit breaker protection and the ability to provide substantial AC power via a power inverter (sold separately).

Ample Jumpstarting and DC Power All in One
The Schumacher IPD-1800 is a combination DC powered Jumpstarter and external 12-volt power source, that goes wherever you do. Built around a powerful 12-volt, 18Ah, AGM battery, the IPD-1800 generates maximum power, which funneled to the onboard jumpstarter cables can revive the faltering batteries of the heaviest of consumer vehicles on the road today. Users also have their choice of charging the unit's internal battery via a standard AC wall charger, or a docking station (both included). The IPD-1800 also serves as a powerful external 12-volt power source. Users can get maximum use of the onboard 18Ah battery via the IPD-1800's one DC power outlet with a hefty 30 amp automatic overload protection circuit breaker built in, or can add an optional power inverter to tap into up to 500-amps of power. Additional features include a built-in emergency LED light, a rugged carrying handle and a front-facing LED charging indicator.
Safety and Convenience of Maintenance Mode Charging
External 12-volt power sources are a must-have accessory for any driver who spends a decent amount of time on the road, especially when tools and appliances are involved, but like any battery-based tool, a 12-volt power source is only as good as the charge they carry when you need them. For this reason most require an ongoing schedule of monitoring and recharging by owners in order to maintain a proper charge without damaging the internal battery, but the Schumacher IPD-1800 is different. The Schumacher IPD-1800 features Maintenance Mode/Float Mode charging. Maintenance Mode charging is a smart charging cycle that initially charges your battery at an efficiently high rate up to a preset level, at which point charging ceases. When the battery eventually drops below this level again, another less powerful charging cycle begins that is just enough to regain the batteries preset optimal level. This smart charging does not pose a risk of overcharging, and so enables you to leave your Schumacher IPD-1800 plugged in all the time. It will always be ready for you to stash in the truck as you hit the road or the jobsite.

Disappointing. : Schumacher IPD-1800 Instant Power Jump-Starter with Docking Station
I am very impressed with this product as far as it's dependability and ease of use. I had a problem with a battery drain on my vehicle in which the battery would be dead every morning when I would go to start it. I used this product every day for a few weeks to jump off the car until we could find the source of the drain. It worked flawlessly every time I needed it. I had always been scared to jump start a battery, but with this product, it is so easy I didn't have any worries. I could even throw it in the trunk and take it with me when I thought I might need it.
I have had it about 6 months now and I love it! The peace of mind is well worth it!
